I also became a summer league Stroke & Turn for that very reason. Then like a dumbass, I went and got myself USA Swim certified. The next year of summer swim, our ref trained me as a starter and ref then left the team the next year (an evil genius-train your successor and boogie). For the past 4 years, I've been the lead ref trainer for the summer league. This past year, my daughter was a HS freshman and I got VHSL certified and served as Ref/Starter/Chief Judge/ Stroke & Turn Judge for HS swim and because I'm a sucker, I also served as a dive judge. In the process of getting my USA Swim certification for Chief Judge, then starter.

I need to get the tee shirt that says, "If I have only 1 day left to live, God let it be a swim meet day because they NEVER end."
