IIRC, there were only 4 plugs available for 4 camp spots. Dont think there will be many spare plugs available unless thats the only cord you are plugging in.

No, a regular extension cord will not plug in to the power box at Lockn. Are you renting? Is it an RV or something else like a pop-up camper?

If it's anything like last year you might need to plug in your weedeater...

I preface this by saying I dont know much about electricity.

Last year my buddys 30 amp rv cord did not reach the outlet since he parked the opposite way of us so we could do awning to awning. He had a decent 30 amp extension cord with the large handle to connect the two. When we were unhooking Monday morning, he couldnt get the two cords apart. They had fried to each other. Never lost power but a scary situation, especially since that connection was right under his propane tanks. My point is, not sure any extension cords are a good idea. It could have just been his extension cord but like I mentioned it was new and heavy duty.

through out your stay, check your connections. A loose connection can catch fire without tripping a breaker. It's easy for someone to half trip over a cord and pull it out a little way.

This happened to my friends' RV a week or so ago. Still not sure what caused it. Maybe you had too much too fast?

that one looks like from a sudden event, not constant use. Sometimes when moisture is involved, gas is created that causes a "short" for lack of a better term. Electricity can be mysterious.

Being a generator mechanic in the military, I have a lil background with electricity. There are many "laws", but just remember: Voltage burns, amperage kills.

Your body can take quite a few volts of a "shock", but this is dependant on the amperage behind it. Amperage is the "intensity" of the power. To put it in laymens terms, a 30 amp "shock" is like a takin a shot from a sniper with a 50 caliber weapon. One shot, one kill...It's lethal. 

Last year, I too had to run an extension, so we could camp door to door. My extension wasn't "melted" fortunately, but we had taken quite a few power surges, and my connection was a lil tight to remove. A light filing of the male connection, and I was good to go. Endless Summer, NCLockn/Neil & I were being fed off the same gen set, and that one crashed & died. Upoin re-starting the new one, we took a huge surge. If you have lost power while you were running your A/C, make sure you turn it off before you re-energize your RV. That's a HUUUGE surge when power is restored. Take it easy on your RV's electrical system. A power surge really can melt connections, and inside wiring.
