Lockn' While Growing a Tiny Human

First, I love the name. If you can't make fun of yourself who can you make fun of? Why not sign up and become part of the family? Next the heat. It was extremely hot last year, hotter than normal. It is likely not to be as bad this year but you never know. As you said, hydration is key regardless. Lockn has improved on the cleanliness of the port a potties in the last few years so this should not be much of an issue. They have also started providing urinals for the men so this greatly relieves the stress on, and lines at the porta a potties. Previously there was plenty of room at the back of the field to hang but with a new configuration this year it is anyone's guess how that will work. With the music in a more centralized location this year the walk from camp to music will be shorter. Being sober shouldn't be a problem. Most people are very respectful of each other and their choices. Sleeping in a tent? Maybe some others can give you recommendations here. Maybe a cot would be more comfortable so you are not sleeping on the ground. I have a big thick ThermaRest that is tots comfortable but it is pricey (~$180). Anyway good luck and stick around for a while...

I didn't go last year but I understand they fixed a lot of the portajohn issues (lines and maintenance) but this year, there's a brand new set-up dividing the fest into two venues, so no telling how they will cover this, as well as the admission lines (which have not been an issue before).

Like any other event, keep an eye on the bathroom lines and locations and calculate your timing.

At night, when it's dark and crowded, if you leave the front stage area, you can't get back easily, so coordinate with your group.

On the other hand, your obvious condition (and congratulations!) may get you sent to the front of the line. It should, and I'll take you there if I see you and others won't. And there are ADA porta's.

We don't know how much room there will be for blankets this year when it gets crowded; during the day it hasn't been an issue. And the crowd is friendly, and should be kind to you.

Here's something that has concerned me for each Lockn, even though I can no longer get pregnant: there is no way to summon medical help in an emergency; the ADA and other transportation (golf carts) is spotty and unreliable; there's one medical tent and a couple of first aid stations hidden from view. So first, I'd talk to the Lockn staff before arrival, and then, on arrival, personally visit the medical tent and discuss with them the best approach if you-know-who tries to sneak into the festival without a ticket, or other concerns arise.

Also, you may already know this if this is not your first, but figure out ways to keep your feet propped up, WAY UP, and keep an eye on your ankles (OK that was mean b/c you can't see them but get someone else to check).

Only seeing male responses, I'm feeling compelled to comment. I must say, however, I think the previous comments are spot on. If you're tent camping, you may want to consider a cot tent. www.amazon.com/Kamp-Rite-TB343-KampRite-Double-TentCot/dp/B000I6420U/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1496882549&sr=8-4&keywords=cot+tent It's not perfect, but we have one and it helps not having to sleep right on the ground. You can just sort of fall into it at night and roll out in the morning. We have a couple of self inflatable pads to put on the "cot" which make it comfy. This will be our fourth Lockn' and it has served us well so far. Welcome to the board!
