We've got a bunch of great music headed our way soon . . .
new albums from Jack White and Neil Young have me excited. Like, really, really excited.

Neil Young's new album if officially out! But at the moment you can only buy it on vinyl from Third Man Records. I ordered mine on Saturday - review pending.
Jack White, anyone?
I enjoyed Lazaretto, anxiously awaiting the album.

as some of you may know, i'm a die hard jack white fan. i enjoyed his stuff with the stripes more than his solo stuff, but blunderbuss was a very solid album. with his old stuff, he made the best of what he had at his disposal. now that he's found some success and creative freedom, he has too many toys and he's trying to fit it all in together. far be it from me to knock someone for exploring and taking their music in different directions. i'm sure i'll love the new album. i'll be catching the only special edition they'll be making through his vault club. didn't know about the new neil young vinyl through third man. i'll have to check that out. i love me some vinyl

Your critique is a fair one. He crams a lot of sounds and instrumentation into Lazaretto. I like it, but I definitely miss the raw, stripped-down sound of the White Stripes.

if you haven't seen it, watch Under Great White Northern Lights. It's a documentary the stripes did about their anniversary tour in which they visited every province in canada, including many small, out of the way towns. it gives you an idea of why i love them so much. i dont remember if it was in that or in It Might Get Loud that Jack talks about challenging himself. he puts pedals on the opposite side of the stage to the keyboard so he has to haul ass across stage and get there JUST in time to hit the note on time. that's what i admire so much about him. that, and the intro scene for It Might Get Loud. i love it every time i watch it. sort of like how he still uses his old mail order, sears-robuck, plastic guitar.

Would've been cooler if he'd left a lot of that for people to find on their own, like Easter eggs. Of course, there may be more and the whole thing may be a joke as well.

i'm a vault member, so i'll get this in a cool blue and white color vinyl, but i'm thinking about pre-ordering this as well just cause i kinda want both
