Do they seriously have K9 units out there?? That seems so crazy I mean honestly do they know what kind of an event this is!? If I had to guess I'd say 1/3rd of the cars coming in will have some kind of substance. I understand and support looking for bombs and weapons but really It'll be like shooting fish in a barrel looking for other things. Those K9's will be chasing their tails not knowing which way to sniff. I really would think they'd turn the other cheek concerning pot, do they really want to bust half of the attendees?    

They did for Wednesday entry last year. Pinged on the RV next to us in line. Circled my rig a dozen times at the very least. We weren't holding, but still  it was very annoying. 

You guys must look guilty as hell. We've never experienced any dogs around our camper. Last year, we had to car camp because we missed out on ADA RV camping. We were heavily loaded down with 4 people in the car. The back of our SUV was completely packed and there was also a hitch rack and stuff on the luggage rack. They opened our cooler and that was topped with so much ice, they couldn't see anything in it. They asked if we had any glass and we didn't (said "no"). That was the extent of the search for us. We had nothing on the prohibited list but we could have easily been carrying all kinds of stuff that they passed through. I guess the answer is "it depends".

The K9 presence was for the first few on the Wednesday entry. We never saw any when we came in Thurs.

That's why I suspect it was more for training or show then to "round up the usual suspects." At the time, the bomb sniffing dogs were new to the force and I wondered if they might just be training. I would also be interesting to see if the dogs alerted on a car that usually carried guns (but unarmed for the fest of course).

I agree. Completely unnecessary. And, it was not just an entry thing on Wed. They brought them around our campsite after we were set up. We saw them walk through other sites as well. May very well have been just a Wed. thing but not limited to entry.

The dogs were sniffing down the rows of RV's waiting to enter the search area. It was just the fuzz shaking down hippies.

Is that the building where their office is located? Which is right near BRB/main stage. This was a ga rv area last year (called green field) and is not a labeled area this year.
