***ALERT*** POTENTIAL FOR EXTREMELY PLEASANT END OF SUMMER LAST WEEKEND OF AUGUST

Be advised that even though this is still a week away the various weather models are in strong agreement that extremely nice and dangerously pleasant ideal late August weather conditions will develop across entire eastern third of the country during the last weekend of August. This scenario is supported by the operational GFS ...the operational European ...the operational Canadian models ... and the GFS European and Canadian ensembles.

This MAP on the LEFT in the first image shows the upper air pattern as we go into the weekend with a massive trough moving into the eastern third of the country. The map / image on the right side shows the surface map valid Sunday morning AUG 27. Notice the massive Canadian HIGH pressure sitting over Pennsylvania. If this was September 25 or 27 as opposed to August 27 this air mass would clearly bring about a frost the Midwest and New England.

How impressively cool will the temperature anomalies be on Sunday morning AUG 27 over the Middle Atlantic region ( and all of the East Coast for that matter) ? The 2ND image shows you how cool these negative temperature might be. The operational GFS and European models are showing many areas over central and western North Carolina ... most of Virginia (except for the coast) West Virginia ...Maryland ...much of Pennsylvania.. Ohio ...eastern Kentucky dropping into the middle and upper 50s on Sunday morning August 27.

Of course these conditions may not develop as currently being depicted by the models but you should prepare for the following contingencies if this forecast verifies

Opening the windows and turn off the air conditioning.

Taking the deep breaths of air without feeling like you are in a bowl of soup

Pleasant evenings on the back porch with family friends and neighbors while eating barbecue.

Bury the hatchet with an annoying neighbor and asking in the come over and have a beer or some barbecue

hug the dog

Looking at amazingly clear skies and the stars

Tell your kids its going to be alright and actually the future of the planet is VERY bright

How high do you think the tsunami is going to be, what's your prediction on how strong an earthquake and what about the volcano?

still too early but the latest is 82/59 with no rain until Sunday night--and that's "occasional showers" which means nothing.

No wind direction at this time which tells you humidity--and really about everything else.

Dry heat is so much easier to deal with. Dancing in soup is a bitch.

I looked at the current temps and though beer sales would go thru the roof, but without any breeze..... Meh.
