It is about the time of the year we once again add to our list of obsessions regarding LOCKN and impart all our worldly wisdom upon each other and stand corrected by a few... (rightly so)

Here are my predictions:

It will rain in Mexico this weekend. Last festival at Infinity Downs, FESTY, Hurricane Matthew participated. Oh what fun!!!

and LOCKN Festival 2017 will be the coolest on record (yes TOO $ I know it is two weeks out and the weather changes on a dime)

I never developed a taste for scotch. Even the "good" stuff is pretty yuk to me. I think Canada picked up where Tennessee and Kentucky left off in whisky development.

I find it's best to avoid event trying.

After having one of the best wines ever at a friends, then going out to buy it and spending $140 for a bottle, I decided the best strategy is to never even TRY the stuff that's going to be out of my budget anyway.

Autumn seems to have come early, at least here in Central PA. Should make for a fairly comfortable Peach. Good thing , too - as bad as it was last year at Lockn, it was worse at Peach. At least we had the waterpark...if you like wook soup*. Hope the comfort stays, although asking for that and no rain is probably unreasonable.

* Actually, that's really only true of the wave pool and the kiddie pools. The wave pool because you can see the Mushroom stage from there, so everyone crowds in; the kiddie pools are self explanatory. I went for a float in the "Lazy River," and it was fine.

A pet peeve of mine is when people ( no one specifically ) say that weather isn't that big a deal. It matters alot. I was out there all day from morning to night last year and a vast majority of people didn't come out till dusk.

I know plenty of folks like to party at camp, and folks who wouldn't be out during the day anyhow. Rain isn't a problem, cold isn't a problem, but that damn heat drains the holy life out of you.

I can handle heat OK but agree it's draining; steady rain is what kills the fun for me for camping and festing. It affects too many factors and there's no relief.

I do a lot outdoors, and high wind is the most bothersome condition to me. The rest I have ways to deal with.

I'm hoping that Virginia got its heat wave checked off the list in July. It's been great since, with ups and downs, better than ups and ups. But two weeks is too far to even guess.
