This is our first year taking one car. We need to be able to leave and come back due to kiddos staying with Grammy Thursday and then meeting us Friday. Has anyone pulled into camp area(we're doing forest) and then left to go to day parking? And is it possible to come back in Sunday to pick up gear? I emailed info but haven't gotten a response. We will have a forest pass and will purchase a day parking pass if necessary.

I doubt you'd be able to drive back to the site on Monday because you'd be going against the herd.
Sunday, probably not, either. Once you're out, you're out, especially that late in the game when they aren't bringing in much new traffic, especially to that area which will be full.
But maybe you can work on arranging a golf cart ride out, under the circumstances?
Except for the cost consideration, the most reliable arrangement is one car at camp and one in day parking. Or get the children a ride from Granny's.

You can leave camp area and proceed to day parking no problem if you have a 4 day parking pass. Coming back in to camp area on Sunday to pick up gear will likely be difficult if not impossible. Also, consider that Forest is a long schlep from day parking.

Thanks guys, that was my concern. I know it's a safety concern so I can't blame them at all.
We walked from forest to day parking at the open house to familiarize with the trek. Unfortunately in years past they wouldn't let us take gear through the concert are so that will make it twice the journey.
Golf carts and shoving the big stuff in friends vehicles may be our best options. We sold our second car last month and I'm kicking myself for it now!

For Day Parking - do they search the car or do they search each person and their respective stuff at a checkpoint when they're coming in?

We have people arriving Thursday both GA car camping and RV.
Some of their crew are arriving later, incl Friday, and will park in day parking.
We assume they can go from day parking to the camping area without going through a show field and being subject to search, food and bev restrictions?
They plan to supplement the RV and its meager 1 case!
looks like the only long-hike diversion would be trying to go from the main entrance to the show field over to the forest/high field area

I was told that there will be easy access to and from all areas such as from day parking to camping. This remains to be seen...We have people arriving Thursday both GA car camping and RV.
