Biking?

I don't think you'll get a "meaningful ride" on site but bikers find them to be good transportation, if you can handle hills. Have a cow bell to move the crowds.

Lots of great places to ride in the vicinity if you can come early or stay over. Even the roads connecting the farm are good once traffic subsides. Not sure about nearby trails that would be worth the investment of time away from the tunes, especially since you can't drive to them and then return without paying day parking.

It says they have about 7 miles of trails. We are bringing mtb's to ride the trails and have them available to get around the grounds if needed.

I know the wheelhouse had some pretty sweet mountain bikes to rent last year.

I don't think anyone really had a problem with theft of bikes in years past. When the main venue was on the track there would be hundreds of MTN and beach cruiser bikes docked along the fence close to the main entrance with at least 20% if not more unlocked just propped up against the fence so apparently people didn't worry about it that much. If your like me though and bringing a nice Trek MTN bike at least bring a flexible bike lock as a deterrent, never saw anyone running around with bolt cutters but don't invite people to be dishonest. 

Wanted to add first year I passed out at my tent with my bike just propped up against my car unlocked the entire night and it never went anywhere but still you should be smart.

Thanks! Yeah, I was planning on at least using some sort of deterrent but wanted to confirm that that should be all I need. I worked at a bike shop for several years and was forever trying to convince people that a decent lock is cheaper and less inconvenient than a new bike. Didn't always work.
