I like the way you roll--Bloody in the am and G&T as the sun reaches the yard arm. And only beer in green bottles in the early morning. I also suspect they always do a couple of thorough searches and grab some stuff to show that they did; unlucky for that guy. At L2 some friends showed up Saturday and without thinking had toured a winery and bought a case in the forbidden glass, of course. So the search confiscated 2-3 bottles and let them in. Ponder that for a minute. That took me back to border crossings in Asia back in the day, where you often had to "share" some but not all of your duty-free that was headed for the same black market anyway. At my last lockn I had a couple thermoses of hot coffee; the searchers hadn't been given any as promised so I hooked them all up. Sailed on through from there, like easing into Burma with that Johnny Black to finance the run! Be cool, be cooperative and divert attention. Old skills still serve. Hi - first time attending - is that correct only one case of beer and one bottle per vehicle? we are doing VIP camping - arriving early Wed night - not enough to get us thru Monday AM - I get it they want us to buy booze there - but for 4.5 days that is a bit tight - am I missing something? how much do they charge for beer in festival grounds?

A lot of discussion elsewhere but generally they are looking for people bringing in beer and liquor to sell. Although there are exceptions, they don't go through and count loose beers in a cooler of ice.
Since you can't bring in bottles, your liquor may find itself more conveniently carried in a plastic bottle--bourbon is iced tea; gin is water; etc.
BTW in Virginia there will be no booze for sale; just beer and wine. Possible exceptions for some cooler-type drinks.

IIRC, beer was going for between $6 and $8 (or was it $10 for a full pint?).
There's not really been a definitive answer to that question. We have at least 1 report of a case of beer being confiscated as "too much," and that was before they added the "per car" qualifier to the list.
Most folks had no trouble as long as there was no glass or fireworks or other stuff found, and rolled in with several cases. We always have a car load (4 folks), and at least a case or two of beer visible plus big cooler, and never had an issue.
That said, IMHO, it's absolutely worth bringing what you think you'll need, and hope for the best.
If they do start confiscating beer, I'll be looking for rides out with a day-parker for a beer run, and hoofing another case in. That may be more difficult to do this year with everything more close in, but...

Lizard has this one nailed. I have brought 4 cases of beer with me for the last two years. I had two in the cooler iced down, one in the Airstream and one in the back of my truck. YMMV and of course is vehicle dependent. I have never experienced an issue with alcohol. We bring PLENTY in plastic containers. Gotta have that Bloody Mary in the am, and a stiff gin & tonic in the early afternoon. I think it's more of a "we have to post this on the webpage" rather than a "rule" they will actually enforce. As long as your not tryna bring in 10 + cases of beer, you'll be fine. Disperse it around if ya can. You should receive zero hassles.

We bring a case of beer per person every year and we've never had a problem. Our group has always been a party of 4. The one guy we heard had beer confiscated had 2 cases with only one person in the car. A lot of the "inspectors" would have probably let him through with it but he got the wrong one. Putting it in different places could resolve that.
