This will be my first time at a festival (besides ACL, but I just went home to my apartment for that). I've seen several different lists recommending that festival-goers bring a sun shade for their sites. I have forest camping passes, though, and had assumed that there would be enough tree coverage to render that unnecessary. How wrong am I?
I have a lot of camping experience, but it's primarily backcountry stuff. It's taken me a while to get used to the fact that I bought a big car camping tent and a queen-sized air mattress. I know that whatever expectations I have are probably totally wrong; just trying to make sure they don't interfere with the experience.
