I am obsessed with ice and keeping it for the duration of festivals.
Here are some tips for the new folks, feel free to add yours below.
I always bring three coolers, One for food, one for drinks, one for ice storage. Usually I bring an extra small cooler for cocktail ice as well. So you don't have to make a drink with beer ice.
1. Freeze bottled water and gallon jugs solid to use to keep your food cold. When they thaw, you can drink them and the don't melt all over your food.
2. Bring one cooler just for ice storage, keep it closed at all times and in the shade or wrapped in a Mylar emergency blanket. Transfer the ice as needed to your beer cooler. Keep extra frozen water bottles in there.
3. Chill your beer at home. Keep it in a cooler or in the shade in the box. Then add it as needed to your beer cooler. Don't dump out the water unless you need to make room.
