How do we get there?

From the North:
From Charlottesville, travel 35 miles south on 29S. Look for festival signs after passing the small town of Lovingston.

From the South:
From Lynchburg, travel 22 miles north on 29N. Look for festival signs.

Of course. Everyone knows that.

But like all the other minutia, people want to know. Some may plan to rendezvous with others at the given entrance.

Then there are those who come in from the back roads to the east--are they open? Which ones take you to your designated entry point?

Me, I'm just going to follow the signs. Just trying to help some brothers out.

Here are the VIP directions that I was sent. I cannot speak to the GA but, basically, follow the signs.


From 29 North (Driving South)

Turn Left on Front Street. Drive 0.3 miles to James River Road.

Turn Right on James River Road. Drive 3.1 miles to Oak Ridge Road.

Turn Right on Oak Ridge Road. Drive 2.7 miles to Diggs Mountain Road.

Turn Left onto Diggs Mountain Road and then an immediate left again through Gate Two.


From 29 South (Driving North)

Drive past the main GA Entrance, approximately 3 miles to Front Street.

Turn Right on Front Street. Drive 0.3 Miles to James River Road.

Turn Right on James River Road. Drive 3.1 miles to Oak Ridge Road.

Turn Right on Oak Ridge Road. Drive 2.7 miles to Diggs Mountain Road.

Turn Left onto Diggs Mountain Road and then an immediate left again through Gate Two.

Interesting. That was also the entrance for GA RV last year. GA went left at the top of the hill and VIP and ADA went down the hill and around the track.

Since we didn't get the promised "Directions" email, I guess we'll have to just look for the sign when we get there around 6:30 a.m.

Dave seemed to indicate during the hayride that it would be the same, so I'm guessing that will be our route too.

I'll follow the velvet ropes to get in line with the bearers.
