I saw a guy wearing a shirt that said, "There are no strong beers, only weak men." I didn't get a chance to talk with him, but I'm pretty sure were are friends on some sort of astral plane.

Right before WSP there was a spunion behind us yelling "The Panics are starting!! The Panics are starting!!". Then as they started she left to go to the bathroom but turned to her group of friends and in the most serious way possible shouted "Guys! This is Important! If I go pee how are we going to remember and keep our planned interpretive dancing circle!?!"
Also, during Fogerty's veteran's song (Surprised I haven't seen more flames over this one yet) my friend turned to me and goes "Dude I feel like we're in a Budweiser commercial". He later compared it to the "Join the Navy Now" Simpson's episode

IKR? "I remember that time at woodstock I opened for janis joplin...blah blah blah". "That time me and kenny chesney decided to cash in on the war....". Who brings their own giant TV with a video that they duet with and has montages of themselves when they were younger? It was a like a self tribute and awkward. Just play the damn song and we will clap.Right before WSP there was a spunion behind us yelling "The Panics are starting!! The Panics are starting!!". Then as they started she left to go to the bathroom but turned to her group of friends and in the most serious way possible shouted "Guys! This is Important! If I go pee how are we going to remember and keep our planned interpretive dancing circle!?!"

IDK I liked the video montage. It was definitely an exercise in self congratulation as you say but it gave a nice feel.

I liked the Woodstock in the rain photos, too, and never knew the connection with the song.
At his age and stage he has to blow his own horn some to stay relevant, especially being separate from CCR. I'd agree, however, that if he hadn't played so damn well that it would have been much more annoying.

part of my reaction was an aforementioned Behind the Music episode I saw a while ago where he took all the credit for CCR and generally seemed like a braggart. IDK I liked the video montage. It was definitely an exercise in self congratulation as you say but it gave a nice feel.

Just be thankful he didn't tell his whole 4 1/2 minute Woodstock story that was painfully unfunny and uninteresting. It speaks volumes of his character that his bandmates are too scared to confront him and tell him it's just awful and would better be replaced by 5 minutes of silence if he needs a break from playing songs.
