I need to have a conversation with my daughters. They buy me technology I don't want, then I have to spend bucks and hours getting them hooked up, then they don't work. They add all this "great stuff" to my cable package for father's day and I don't watch it. They got Netflix--I have never seen a Netflix nor even know what it is--and apparently 5 families are using it.   The most awesome Wii never worked--supposedly I could watch Netflix through it, but I had to buy a router booster--the biggest one--and it has worked once. Once. Oh, and the solid gold patch cables.  Never used it. Won't work.

My rotary phone does, however.

So here is my plan:  Elizabeth turns 30 this year.  I am going to buy her a Singer sewing machine. A couple of patterns and a bolt of Gingham. Then I say: "look all you have to do it turn it on and just like that you make your own clothes!  What could go wrong?"
