Currently on frontgatetickets.com (the group managing Lockn tickets) the only camping option currently unavailable is Forest Camping.

In all seriousness I don't know if or when they have ever sold out. I still haven't bought my RV pass. Maybe I should do that. Don't know if I've ever seen a warning email that such and such tickets are running out. I did check and they are definitely unavailable.

2017/AUG/3 Lockn sent out an email with "RV Camping, Forest Camping + Student Tickets Almost Sold Out"
2016/APR/6 Lockn sent out an email with "RV Camping, Car Camping, Forest Camping, and VIP Camping Passes Almost Gone!"
Not seeing anything for 2015 or 2014.
So a couple things could be going on...
1) They are indeed sold out this year which is waaaaaaaaaay earlier than previous years.
2) They have significantly dialed back the number of Forest Camping tickets sold.
3) There is something going on in the background with the ticket sales and they might be available again at another time. It does just say "unavailable" and not "sold out"

I hope forest isn't packed this year. Did Lumni forest camping last year and it was a thousand times better than any of my previous camping experiences.

My friend communicated with the official Lockn Facebook page and they confirmed that Forest Camping as well as Lumni tickets are sold out.
Soooooo....that was pretty fast.

That would be weird. I've done Forest Camping the last two years and there has always been plenty of space. Sure if you show up Friday afternoon looking for a spot you have to go in pretty deep. But there is always plenty of space.maybe they're dedicated to ensuring you have enough space? I know there were complaints about overcrowding in the past

And those Phish wooks don't buy tickets, they just burrow under the fence and sleep under other peoples rvs. That is why you carry one of those border patrol mirror on a stick and check your rv every morning or pretty soon you end up with a full blown infestation.

Some possibilities:
1. They offered a limited number of forest camping at the opening and will release more
2. They are mindful of not overcrowding the space they have to improve the experience
3. After they nail down the lay-out they open more forest areas
