It's a sticker. Sue had bought me a Dead-themed phone case and the cheap piece of Chinese crap broke before I could even put it on, so I went low-tech.

I refused too for 20 years. Then two weeks ago I fell off a boat with my phone in my pocket while reflexively trying to retrieve someone's cheap sunglasses. Now my new phone has a new waterproof case. Yeah, and I refuse to pay $30 for one. Sticker seems like the best option.

I have the Galaxy because it's waterproof. My daughter is a swimmer and I became an official and at pretty much every meet (and I am at a lot of meets between summer, high school, and USA Swim), I am inches from the edge. We did a boat delivery from Stewart FL through the Cross Florida Barge Canal, up the coast to Cedar Key. I was religious about putting my phone in a water proof box the whole trip when not in use. Having made the trip, and put the boat on the trailer, I went back for a few items before we pulled it out and promptly fell of the boat with the phone in my pocket, not in the case... Have also just jumped in the pool with one. I have considered taking the bricked one with me to the pool and putting in my pocket every time I go. Jump in and scream obscenities, pull it out, then throw it over the fence. We did have a parent drop one in the pool. As Meet Ref, I was not happy and told them they were lucky because if it had interfered with a swimmer, they would have been ejected as well as ruined a phone.
I wouldn't have felt the least bit bad. My prime directives as Meet Ref are (1) a safe meet, and (1a) a fair meet.
Now we have a rope line to keep the spectators from being right on top of the pool.
