Ticket Sales

I feel like the delay in price increases happens with every festival. I wouldn't read too much into it. As far as attendance, probably more than last year, less than '16 with the Phish.

You may be right. I can see it now...Lockn announcement..."Due to brisk and unexpected ticket sales we will be moving the venue back to the racetrack because we really only moved it last year to make it look full..." (I actually wish they would. AND I want the big VIP fenced in area smack dab in the middle of the field where it belongs...there, I said it.)

And GA RV passes are up to 500 bones. That's ALOTTA dough for 4 days of electricity and a place to park your ass. And you're right buddy, I think that IS a first.

That is apparently a very guarded secret. If you find any verifiable data I would like to see it. Much speculation, few facts.

I doubt 2016 was 30, more like mid-to-high 20's but maybe close. I understand 2017 was barely 20 if that.

Counting a 4 day fest is squirrelly anyway--do you count the show field Saturday at 10 pm?

Every ticket of every kind? Because I have a 4 day and if that makes me one head in the count, and if Neil comes on Saturday only and Trey comes on Sunday only, are they 2 heads? I'm there 4 times as much as each of them.

Or do you count a 4 day pass as 4 heads and 1 day pass as one? Then average?

I'd rather go back to counting beers at the border crossing.

Anyway, while head count/ticket sales is the most convenient marker, without some idea of the cost factor, it's like saying the score of the Superbowl was 48.

At one of the earlier events a guy I know in the business observed, "I don't think his cost lines and revenue line are going to cross."

When bands like Phish or Dead Co can sell 40,000 seats in one night, a 20,000 gate is rather paltry.

I hope we find it so crowded this year as to be almost unbearable.
