How often do the dump guy/gal and water filling guy/gal come by? How often do you need to be emptied and filled back up would you say?(Literally...not figuratively!)...still no idea what I’m doing! Thanks! There will be 5-7 of us showering, etc...we are planning on using the rv facilities if you kwim...

Not sure how they often they will come by in the GA areas. I think they pretty much constantly move through the campgrounds. I would suggest that some of you use porta johns and Lockn showers some of the time or you will fill up every day and run out of water. Make sure that everyone knows what a "Navy" shower is. Get wet, turn off water. Lather up and rinse quickly. Key is not letting the water run constantly.How often do the dump guy/gal and water filling guy/gal come by? Keep this in mind: your RV will have three tanks: fresh water, drain water, and toilet. The capacity of the fresh tank is roughly equal to the drain+toilet tank, which means that your drain tank (sinks and shower) is smaller than your fresh tank. Which also means that if you use a lot of water your drain tank can fill up and then overflow thru your shower drain. Which is a little nasty.
So in conserving water in an RV, what you are really doing is taking care not to overfill your drain tank. Just don’t let the water run down continuously while dish washing, showering, tooth brushing, etc.

This is why an outdoor shower makes sense. You can still wash off outside and avoid filling the tank.
In the RV tips and tricks there is a lot of important info about being sure your water is really full and gray/black water really empty. Air pockets and such can have an effect and careless or unscrupulous renters don't always do the job.
Also leveling makes a huge difference and out of level can trigger alarms, shut off water, etc. Specifics in the other thread.
Learn about filling your fresh water from jugs and sometimes pressure is required.
In the past, the pump-out service has been irregular and unreliable as for scheduling, etc. Someone is going to miss a lot of music waiting for them, so plan to take turns hanging back--or make the heavy users do it. Better to not count on pumping out and try to make it through.
Be conservative with your flushes. If you have 5-7 living in confinement you will have to shed some dignity anyway.

Ahhh good advice. in VIP with the on-site RV this was always just taken care of for us. I wonder if there is a difference in the bring your own VIP RV site and GA? I don't view GA as the dregs of society just not sure what to expect - and gonna find out! But the eternal planner in me always wants to be prepared. I've been reading the tips and tricks and now thinking it makes sense to get the outdoor shower-luggable loo combo perhaps...though what are the chances one of us (or someone) will crash into a nasty 5 gallon bucket at some point during the weekend?!? There should be a small button on the shower head. Push it when not rinsing off. This will stop the water from running while lathering up and is more convenient than shutting off at the knobs and trying to get back to the desired temp. 4 of us got by without emptying once since we were mindful (constant reminders by me helped). 7 is pretty much a guarantee of at least one pump out.How often do the dump guy/gal and water filling guy/gal come by? And yes the outdoor showers are on the prohibited list. Apparently the Virginia Department of Health has gotten involved. There is no mention of the luggable loo being prohibited. Cat litter works wonder in this situation so no real risk of spilling the poo...

Here's a new (to me) trick from BIL Andy to keep your gray water tank from over-filling: put a plastic basin in the floor of the shower. It will catch a gallon of water you can "dispose of elsewhere". They were able to go without a pump out last year with this and (a device to hose off not inside the RV).

Not meaning to be snarky, but if you will have 5 to 7 showering, etc. in the RV, make a special request to the dump and fill folks. They just might be able to send one of their kids to college on that deal, so ask them to keep you serviced. In all seriousness, say you'd like to see them every day or two, and I'm sure they will seek you out or make arrangements. Jobs like theirs benefit from known customers! We usually pump out on Sat as we arrive on Wed. Your gray H2O tank is not gonna be able to handle 7 showers per day fo sho. I just checked, and a pump out is now 100 bones, but I'm sure that would include a H2O re-fill, so it should be cheaper (YMMV). Gotta love a Navy shower. As a reference, my fresh H2O tank holds 37 gals. I bring 20 gals in 5 gal jugs, and we have never run out. We have 4 with us.
Smosey is on the $ tho. Someone is gonna miss out on some music waitin on the honey wagon!
