Last year the Starr Hill passes were badges that said "all access" but of course they weren't the real All Access. It was right crowded in there. They had a similar set-up at L2 but not at L3 when Sierra Nevada was the sole vendor. I got in at L2 and it was free beer. Didn't get in last year so don't know the deal. Working on this year! How do you get to the side stage area of the Hang this year?
Last year I was lucky enough to score a bracket to get me there and I am on look out for one this year.
My understanding it is not VIP or SVIP to get there.

Hey I want to hang....what does the Hang mean...is it a hammock city with misting fans and soft chairs?there were some contests for it but you have to be in the inner circle for that. LF&F.

The Hang Lounge is the private lounge of Peter Shapiro and Dave Frey.
The Hang has:
Upgraded bathrooms with air-conditioning and real running water
Discounted drinks at a bar
Free Cold Brew Coffee station
Bistro Tables to gather with your friends
A lounge with shade structure and a flat screen TV to watch the show
And, the big one: A side stage viewing deck to watch your favorite bands up close and personal
Not a VIP or SVIP thing. You can have a GA pass and a Hang pass. There are some of these passes given away in contests but most are given to friends and family of Dave and Pete.

VIP is not a club. Nice level camping, air conditioned showers and bathrooms, VIP lounge, VIP viewing area at main stage, VIP bar at main stage, welcome BBQ on Thursday, brunch on Sunday, free waters and sodas, late night munchies, free shoulder rides...

A badge gets access to a private lounge (little or no line) and cheap or free Starr Hill beer (depending on the pass).
