Don’t get me wrong. I had a great time. I just don’t think I got a good bang for for buck. Not all of what was lacking at LOCKN VIP is related to money.
Some things LOCKN could do much better that would cost NOTHING:
Smiles
Having answers to basic questions
Common courtesy (question - “what’s for breakfast”, answer - “it’s brunch”, while shoving a plate in you hand). Seriously?
Putting early arrival campers closer, not pushed back, back, back.
Better viewing area
Marginal cost items that would have enhanced the experience and not broken the bank:
(or what $1000 a head could probably cover)
Signs
Picnic tables or SOME sort of seating near campground food vending
Port-o-potties
Actual viewing platform
AC and viewing screen in lounge
It really wouldn’t take a ton more money to kick it up a bit. I get that camping location is close to gate and security checks are casual. That really is a great benefit but doesn’t cost anything! NOTHING.
So what are we tangibly paying for besides the all important band fees?
Food, cold bev’s, a poster and water bottle, decent showers and bathrooms, a “lounge” with no AC or ability to see outside.
Not very relaxing, which I think is the idea of a lounge. A fenced in, overcrowded pen for viewing. For the tens of thousands of dollars collected from VIP ticket holders, I just feel they can do much better. Again, not a good value for $1000+
😃✌🏼🎶

More irks: people w/out regard for societal norms such as personal space & the awareness of one’s body, too many in too little of a pen, tent on the hill made no sense for either stage, no viewing area for Relix, and to top it off- I was hassled during my “no hassle checkn” (nothing terrible, and nothing in the endless line realm, but come on). Also by fri, 2x merch was gone. On the bright side, I can slip my giant neon D&Co tee over my parka while clearing snow this winter - sweetest safety vest ever.
I (along with another patron at the next table) was berated by the keeper of the plates late sat night. On fri when I her asked what the vegan options were, she told me “it all is... pretty much all of it”...When my wife asked, she rattled off the 3-4 things that were actually vegan... With regards to the concierge, I only heard I don’t knows.
I agree with all of TOO’s improvements (elevated, adjoining tent w live feed, etc), but would add a proper seating option with shade / cover. Vipers should be entitled to their own premium space. I shouldn’t have to claim a seat at 1230 and guard it (while braving the heat) just to have near-center seats for D&Co w/ Branford- although I am glad I did.
All that being said, I’m eligible for ‘lumni tix next year, right?

I think though all of them would be fine as long as a proper amount of space is given for everyone to fit comfortably.
There was not.
Plan properly for the total number of people and then we can all be happy.

"We have both exceptional and disappointing experiences: it's important to note that we had an excellent time overall, but think you could totally improve upon a few things for the hefty VIP price, and make us feel like VIPS and not just people paying more $$. Here is the good stuff first:
Exceptionally Good Experiences as a 3 day VIP ticket holder:
• Outstanding sound by Meyer; Loved the line-up,
• VIP tent and most concierges, free waters/ sodas, excellent Sunday Brunch, LOVED the hard copy newspaper, Air conditioned toilets, with amenities; great relaxation area with hammocks, the new vendor food area, misting stations, lots of port o potties.
• Sober Lockn- as sober people this was extremely appreciated by myself, girlfriend and others.
• Excellent preparation for a HUGE 40K crowd
Things that you could improve upon next year/ that were disappointing this year:
No Wifi for VIP - We wanted to promote your great festival and I couldn't? Have all cellular providers next year. My Sprint did not work. Verizon very spotty.
• NO COFFEE FOR VIP GLAMPERS!-- where was the coffee? We need coffee. Heelllp!
• Too many GA/ hang pass holders in the VIP viewing area. Seems like you oversold the Hang. Needed MUCH More security and EXPERIENCED SECURITY; not only at the VIP viewing entrance but also around the VIP viewing area.
• We were disappointed in the Glamping. THERE WAS NO COFFEE!!
There was really nothing glamorous and very little amenities for the 1400 price tag. We had one small towel in our tent. A single lightbulb in a vase does not offer much in the way of light. Also the tent camping was 400.00 less and they had the exact same thing as us glampers! We found this really not too cool. What were paying 400.00 more for?
We heard that in 2017, there was iced coffee, bananas and the paper every morning in the Glamping Tent area. For this 1400 price we really expected FREE COFFEE.
• Limited to none concierge contact in the Glamping area—Ivy was great, but 4 concierges for the whole VIP area ( tent camping, RV, Glamping) is a joke. There should be at least 2 pp in each area at all times.
• There should have been more than one area to purchase ice.
• Didn’t like the scheduling of Late night shows on the Relix Stage and Garcia’s Forest at the same time. This was a bummer as we had to choose which show to see.

We were very surprised and disappointed there was NO COFFEE offered at brunch? Brunch without coffee? Really?
