good. since we now know it's not a Virginia rule, maybe we can get somewhere. Obviously the size matters of the cup, which is why some places you have to use theirs. Bill the health rule reason wouldn't apply if you fill your own cup b/c you are the only one handling it. The germ transfer is your grubby hands on your cup, handed to the server with bare or even gloved hands who has handled lots of grubby cups, then taking my pristine cup from my consistently sanitized hands and rubbing your grubby germs all over it. My only Survey will be all hydration packs accepted regardless of size.....it's literally my only concern..

Thanks! I wanted to hear him tell that story. Got his autograph on an old Lockn water bottle, too. Big moment for me as I have loved Taj Mahal since high school. Then, I noticed that Derek Trucks was using a medicine bottle for his slide Sunday night!

Survey matter: Request that we be able fill beer directly into our own metal cups.
I know they do this at other fests but are any of them in Virginia?
The beer vendors said they couldn't, due to health laws (which are state, not local, I believe) and all they could do is hand me a full plastic cup to pour into mine (which I did anyway for insulation) then throw away the cup.
I understand the reason for the health rule generally and have noticed that fast food places won't fill your own cup or when you get a refill, they give you a new cup.
But I'd like to see them grant an exception to the rule--not that it's easy to deal with the Health Dept.

Most Fast Food places now have self serve soft drinks. You get one cup, you refill that one cup as often as you wish (during that visit). So it's obviously NOT a hygiene issue. Lockn' just thinks that somehow you will take advantage and actually get the amount of beer you pay for. Floydfest, in Virginia, has for many years only sold beer in the consumers metal cups. This year at Floydfest, Frey spoke at a little panel about fests, and he ironically brought up the subject of the disposable cup problem.

There's no good excuse for plastic cups. Roosterwalk pours in your cup exclusively. I liked the old all-good model of selling hard plastic reusable cups for $1 (I think) still have a few of those nearly ten years later.
