I got a question and didn't really want to start a new thread. Last year coming up from Florida I stayed the Wed night before Lockn' in Raleigh. I ended coming up on N501 to 29. I didn't realize how many small towns that route took and some towns had 30MPH speed limits. This year I was planning on just coming up 95 to 288 in Chester Va and then getting on 60 to come across to 29. Any suggestions from locals would be appreciated. I won't be riding dirty so I'm not worried about that. TY

Good route but switch to 56 at Buckingham if you don't mind small curvy roads. Rt 60 is a good road but there are slow-downs and cops writing tickets.

Rt 56 puts you literally in Lockn's back door. If you come at peak time you may get re-routed; you may get to cut in line! Evaluate car/RV routes when the date gets closer.

Look at coming up 85 from Raleigh then 47 at South Hill Va. to 460 (good road) then rt 26 to rt 60.
