No more Bell's in Virginia

I heard that on the news and about the distributor contract process and how it kills the business--when you sign on with a distributor, it's forever and you can't change. Doesn't seem right, but few laws pertaining to alcohol in Virginia make sense.

Brewers (manufacturers) can't sell directly to a retailer; they have to sell to a distributor. I know of a few craft brewers whose wives own a small distributor company, with one customer....
