Most magical thing that has happened to you at lockn

Was one of the first few lockns, back when you could bring beer to the late shows. So I was at the late show with a plastic bag of beers and a guy "jokingly" asked if I had an extra beer. Being in the spirit, I said sure, take these two local craft beers (he was from out of town). He was very grateful. He then asked if I had a cigarette. I always bring plenty extra because people always run out and I don't mind helping out in a time of dire need. I had about a half a pack in my pocket and reserves in my backpack, so I gave him the half pack. Turns out he was running one of those generic food vendor spots with the fried gator bites, etc. I ended up eating for free the rest of the weekend. Karma is fun.

I found a totally clean porta-potty early one morning when I REALLY had to poop! Magic!

Talking to Taj Mahal and getting him to sign my Lockn' water bottle was huge for me.

A cute young lady with wings stopped where I was sitting on the show field and put a headband with a pretty flower and streamers on my head and sprinkled fairy dust on me. This is no joke! It really happened.

This story starts out negative, but has a good ending.

I’ve only been to one Lockn’, 2016. We were in GA car camping and Thursday night we were tired from the drive, setting up camp, and-oh god- the heat, so we decided to go to bed early. Just around the time JRAD was starting up, we heard the nitrous activity going on full bore right outside our tent. My husband stepped out to ask them to move along and they did not take the suggestion well. They threatened him. We ended up packing all our stuff, and driving out in the middle of JRADs set.

We had no plan at that point. We decided to head south on 29 and look for a place to stay. If we couldn’t find anything before we got out of reasonable commuting distance, we’d just go home. I pulled up hotels on Google Maps, and the closest one was a place called Knights Inn. I called and asked if they had any rooms for the next 4 nights. The guy said they had one left. I was like great, we’ll be right there. So we got to our room and th first things we did were take showers and crank up the AC.

The next day we went to the customer service desk to see if we could exchange our camping pass for day parking, and they ended up just refunding our camping pass and didn’t charge for the day parking pass. We spent the rest of the weekend as day trippers, and everything was fine. I was so thankful that we found a close hotel. I would have been heartbroken if we’d gone home and missed the festival.
