It's all driven by the laws regarding using a distributor, who has to be the one selling and dispensing. That's why at many "beer festivals" the people serving have no idea what they are pouring. I guess the reps can set up information tables nearby and hand out swag, answer questions, and display their facial hair. Too bad they can't (won't?) sell tasters and flights. They really work against themselves at these things that try to act all craft beer centric in promoting the festival and end up all corporate. Brewery reps are not permitted behind the bar, in the trailers, or any other back of house areas. Brewery reps are not entitled to free product and may not give out free product to friends, attendees, co-workers, brewery reps, etc.Geez! What self-respecting craft brewmaster would agree to THAT??

Geez! What self-respecting craft brewmaster would agree to THAT??This is why I like going to the breweries so much. Brewers do the serving, too.AND I've seen some pretty good bands at some breweries around town. Lots to visit around here, and some I haven't been to yet. Gotta make a point to catch up. They're opening breweries faster than I can taste the beer....

Virginia has the dumbest ABC (alcohol beverage control) laws EVER!I can go into a store and buy 40 cases of beer and walk out, no questions asked, but if I want to buy a little 5.2 gallon keg, they take my ID, fill out a form with all my information and address, and I have to sign a waiver saying the ABC cops can come in and inspect any time they want.CRAZY!Don't get me started on the dumb distributor lobby and the monopoly they've created for themselves.

The 21st Amendment delegates all those rules to the states.There have been a LOT of law suits against states by wineries that want to ship wine to customers. Virginia lost theirs, and had to re-write the law. Maryland won, since they don't have distributor-monopoly rules, but it meant that out-of-state wineries had to ship wine to a retailer where the customer could pick up the shipment.

I got an email back from Sam at Day-Glo in NYC that they will accept craft beer applications through July 8; I sent the connection to a new brewery here. Pass it on!

Dittomy package arrived today even though I signed up late.
Posters and set list cards, no displays, no instructions no nothing.

April will contact you with a site to post pictures.Tape your posters in a local hangout and take a photo with your phone.i usually include myself in the picture as well.The cards can be given to anyone.i sometimes speak with folks directly to peak their interest .They are wanting you to spread the word about wonderful Lockn.

Anybody hear anything about the site to post results on (street team)? I'm on a roll, getting some good locations and about to shift into a higher gear. Not sure on either old postings or new method. I got radio station, guitar stores, beer store, smoke shop, record shops, amplifier repair shop, antique shows, stray dogs, etc. Actually, just kidding on the dogs.

the app called "simplecrew" is not working for me so I am going to upload on the simplecrew website. Some of the pictures I've seen so far don't say much. Like you, I go to high value sites--handing out flyers at Allman Betts, posting at a music store, breweries and college bars in the 757, and of course indie record stores.
but if you can get a smart phone with GPS to work with Simplecrew it's not a bad way to go; I guess LFF checks out the GPS location
