Being close to Garcia forest and late night galactic and circles could be considered by many to be a big plus for this setup.
. But that seems to indicate that they have only sold about half the advance tickets they had anticipated just a few months ago. They cut out almost what, 30% of the camping area.
I think it's going to be an intimate Lockn' this year.
By consolidating they can probably save a lot of money in infrastructure, staff and maintenance costs. While it would be nice to spread out, they usually park everyone together, so it will be good to have everyone close by, such as for trick-or-treating for grilled cheese.

This will be our 6th yr in tent-only. We have always felt fortunate for the area location. Arriving early we could park for a very brief time close to our spot and unload our vehicle. With the setup of tent parking to actual camp site location now, we may be schlepping our gear a bit further. However, it will be nice being closer to Garcia's.

The outskirts does have advantages...not many people just "passing through" and it may be a bit quieter for sleeping.They've moved everybody so much closer, I feel like we're in the outskirts now...
