Clear backpack recommendations

Inconsistency is the only consistency and that may be intentional.

I think some of the full sized backpacks were attached to plain clothes security.

For glow sticks they don't want the wooks tossing big handsfull up in the air--as environmentally sound as a balloon release over sea water. I often have one or two so my body can be found by those searching.

I've brought in steel cups of ice and just turn it upside down on entry to show no liquor liquids in there.

Generally all the searching at the gate is pleasant enough, as long as you are.

Might one of said shirts be an extra large and fit me? If so may I pay you for it?

1st day we had no problem last year. 2nd day 1 guy wouldn't let me bring my big camelpack in so I went to a different line and got it in. 3rd and 4th days no one would let me bring my big pack in. I'm still gonna try and get it in this year. I need the pockets in case I buy cool things!

There literally HAS to be a rule against this.  But that is HILARIOUS.

Going through security is like fishing, sometimes you get your stuff through, sometimes you dont

it was all very inconsistent as to what passed and what didn't. Overall they were rather relaxed except for a few examples of being extreme--I think this is intentional. They had a small bag size that didn't have to be clear. And after all, unless you have all clear contents, your packed clear backpack isn't so clear any more!

No telling what this year might bring.

But look for "NFL Bags" as the stadiums have required them for a while.

Ugh. I forgot all about this. Thought it would blow over by now. Even have a clear backpack, and I still hate everything about this.

Seems like the "more than one pocket" thing only applies if your pack is larger than 8x11x5. That's standard bookbag size, and the size of mine, so I don't see it being a problem.

Why is it necessary to have them in the first place, when you obviously can't see everything and will have to dump it out anyway? Security theater.

I'm more interested in the practical question of "how," as opposed to the philosophical "why."

I have a HUGE clear backpack that has never been questioned, either at Lockn' or Peach.

Clear backpacks are not the end all, be all for security, but I think they DO make the bag checking go faster, as opposed to have to fish through dark backpacks looking for stuff.

Political theater?  Some.  Organizations love to have concrete examples showing they are 'doing something' to improve safety.  Is it effective?  Well, that takes a back seat to a visible process.  (Like airport screening - it's very porous, but it looks good...)

But I think the clear backpacks help somewhat in this dangerous new world we find ourselves in.  Not perfect by any measure, but (in my opinion) it helps the cops a bit.  

But not so effective in keeping out forbidden items like alcohol and such.  But there are bigger fish to fry these days.
