Couch Lockn

I streamed all weekend, glad to see everyone had fun. The Trucks/Trey collabs seemed like they were worth the price of admission alone. Also really enjoyed Trey with Khruang, most of the Oteil set (finally a WRS!), and The Revivalists. All in all it seemed like this festival was about collabs and collective spirit more than any one headliner. It wasn’t the same from the couch but I enjoyed being a part of it in my own way.

I didn’t get to hear this famous Thrash Metal tempo inspired Bobby set but when the line up was announced I knew that type of reception was a possibility. Bob is in his 70s and he still parties. There’s always a chance of him being off his game in a festival setting. Especially when he’s there for 4 days. On top of that, the Wolf Bros are more of a stripped down bar/theatre band. They aren’t there to melt your face. People going into that set expecting Bob Weir to blow their minds probably came away disappointed. People just looking to relax and wrap up a great weekend of music with some Dead tunes probably enjoyed themselves.

Happy to see good vibes about LOCKN’ 2020 on here, hope to make my return to the farm next year.
