First off I want to say hated missing the meeting and greet, it's almost getting comical at this point. My babysitter got sick and backed out, and after a day of consideration decided to try "family Lockn."
I was super nervous but Brad from Brooklyn Bowl switched us to family camping and I approached it as this would be the kids fest. I wouldn't worry about what I missed, simply view what I did see as a bonus for having chaps that enjoyed festivals.
That said, I wound up having my most awesome Lockn ever, and had at least a dozen truly magical, emotional, bonding moments with my boys over an awesome weekend.
Also I felt more a part of the community than ever, because damn near all the fest knew my 2 boys by the end of the fest and at least a thousand different folks came and played with them each day. Also they napped mid evening and hug out for most of the the Trey/Derek magic too. My love for this festival and community grew 10 fold, between all the love and plus there was no room for my social anxiety chasing them everywhere. I really thought this would flop and we'd have to leave after a day, but I was Soo wrong. Sorry to ramble, but this was truly about the coolest weekend ever and I just love our scene dude. Here's to next time

Actually, truth be told they were way more rebellious scenes when I was growing up, ours was a relatively safe subculture compared to a lot of others.
