Well I am in! I have been going back and forth on whether or not I should do VIP for Lockn'. I knew I was going and simply came down to how much I wanted to spend and I am excited I went for it and go the VIP route. As of right now, I plan on going solo unless I find some friends who are going. I am not concerned since I went to Wanee solo this year and had a blast. I made some great friends and I am already planing next year's Wanee with them. They invited me to stay with them next year.

This will be my will be lucky number 13 festival for me and by far the one I am most excited about attending. Been to All Good 5X, '03 Mid-X, '07 Roo, '09 Mountain Jam, '13 Vibes, '12 and '13 Peach Fest and '14 Wanee. Any advice on what I should bring for this festival would be greatly appreciated. I got some amazing advice on what to bring to Wanee earlier this year and made my trip that much better. Based on the photos I have seen, I know I will need to invest in some type of EZ Up to get me some shade during the day. Other than that I got my gear, my cooler and my dancing shoes.

an ez up is one of the most important things you can bring for most festivals where you camp in a field. i did roo in '12 without one and it was miserable at camp. as davharry mentioned, i compiled a comprehensive list of everything you could need. you dont necessarily need to bring everything on the list, but it's there to give you some ideas.

I reviewed the list and that is one impressive list. I have been to my fair share of festivals as I stated earlier and there are things on your list that I did not think to include but are great add ons. Sneake, thanks for putting that list together! Looks like an EZ Up is my next purchase.

We got ours before Lockn last year and it was a godsend. I recommend also bringing some sheets to tie to it to use for side shade.

I use 2 EZ ups. I have 2 wind walls that zip together to make a tent. A plastic tarp & a couple of rugs for a floor, a cot, a camping table, hang a mirror & lamp & you have a tent. You can zip up one or both sides if you want during the day & a EZ up to hook to one side of the other one to sit outside for shade then you camp in comfort. When I get up I like be able to stand up & stretch out.

I get my EZ-ups at Dick's Sporting Goods. I get the Quest Q100 10x10 for $99.98. They do have some for $59.98 that is also 10x10. They also have a 12x12 screen house for $69.99 made by Quest. Lots of options out there.

I like how sturdy the Colemans are. But if you need one now, those sound like good prices.

I would recommend the Q100 10' X 10' Dome Canopy for 99.98. It is the straight leg version. The Quest 10' x 10' Instant Up Canopy is the slant leg version and the canopy is really only 8' X 8'. No big deal right? Wrong, that is 64 sq ft vs 100 sq ft. Only 64% of the shade.

Most all my camping equipment is Coleman. When I went to look for a EZ-up I wanted to see a display so I can see it & mess with it to see how good it is. Nobody had a Coleman in my area I could check out so that's why I ended with the Quest Q100. I've had it for 5 years & can't complain but if you have the money you can't go wrong for $105.00. I'm buying a second one so I may go that way. If Mccjeff recommends it that's good for me. How long have you had it & how is it in the changing weather?

Thanks for all the great advice. I def going to get an EZ Up and plan on checking out all the ones each of you have suggested. I plan on getting some tapestries from a head shop my buddy owns to have as walls. One thing I did buy which I plan on bringing is this tent. I use it all the time when I am at a beach. I think it would be great to have in the stage area but only if I find some people who I can trust to watch it.

Yeah, I'm with sneake on this one. Most of them I saw last year were near the back and that's cool, but I saw some kinda close to the front and they can get really hard to maneuver around, especially when your carrying 3 or 4 beers.

If you already have one of the Q100's I would get another exactly like it. I have 2 of the Colamans. MY wife and a friend took ours to Floydfest one year and it came home... damaged. You can get a new canopy but other than that spare parts are non existent. I bought another Coleman exactly like it. We got it on sale and it cost about what a new canopy would and that isn't what was damaged on mine. Now I have a parts EZup. If something goes wrong I now have repair parts. If the canopy goes bad I have another one ready to go. If your Q100 has lasted 5 years I would just get another one and stash the old one in the basement.
