As many of you know one of our own FishinHatteras lost his valiant battle with cancer in November. I only had the pleasure to know Gavin for a few years but he treated me like a brother, like one of his family from the first time that we met. Gavin never met a stranger. He made sure that my kids always had whatever they needed when they were camped near Gavin at LOCKN. He loved my kids, and they him. Gavin was a HUGE fan of Big Something. Gavin, NCLockn , mccjeff and myself had a running group text message that started over a year ago. It was quite entertaining I'll tell you that. Gavin would constantly say "Big Something needs to play LOCKN". Constantly. He was relentless. We always told him to get over it, that'll never happen. When BS was finally announced he lost his shit, in a good way. Completely overjoyed. " I told you so!" he said. I was so happy that he was so happy. He told me that we would watch the BS show at LOCKN together and we did. Gavin made it to our M&G last year and you could tell that it was a great effort for him to make that trip but there was no way he was going to miss it. He was an active member of this forum and this community and was a very funny fun-loving guy that loved life, his family, his friends and music.

I loved him. I miss him.

His celebration of life will be Saturday February 15th at 2pm at The Spring 3616 NC HWY 42 Willow Spring NC 27592-dress attire, tie dye tee shirts, sports shirts or jerseys or favorite band tee shirt. All of you are welcome to come.

Gavin and I chatted for quite a while at the M&G last year. He was such a warm, loving soul. I wish I had gotten to know him better but what I do know is that he was a treasure and joy to be around. R.I.P., Gavin! Thank you for sharing time with me. I'll see you and we'll get to know each other better on the other side.

Gavin came over to my daughter and I at the meet and greet and shot the breeze for a few minutes. I had no idea about the fight he was in, but he put you at ease and was easy to talk with. Was saddened go hear the news last year. I didn't know Gavin well but wanted to share. RIP

I didn't know Gavin well at all, but he was kind and encouraging to me the year I ventured to Lockn alone. His texts offering help and company still make me smile. Funny that you never know what someone else is going through. I wish I could attend his celebration. Kind, gentle folk should be celebrated.

It appeared to have been well attended as I knew it would be. I have included a link to a few pictures that I have of him and some that looseankles sent to me from the celebration. The picture of him at the meet and greet was the last time that I saw him as I knew at the time it would be. He struggled just to walk across the farm to get to the M&G but there is no way he was going to miss it...
