Welcome to the Lockn' Forum - The home of the original Lockn' Music Festival family!
Last year there was a breakdown in security to the VIP area....they didn't have someone at the back gate! You could not go into the VIP/SVIP area unless you had the correct wristband. Please note: This forum is in no way officially associated with Lockn' Festival or its promoters.
Newvbie...questions about VIP "benefits"
Post by misslab on Jun 20, 2014 10:07:17 GMT -5
I have read through everything on the forum and could not find the answers I am looking for, so here goes!
My hubby and I are doing the VIP and VIP Car Camping. Just wondering about some of these VIP "benefits"...if anyone has experience and can answer, that would be great!
1. Bathrooms/showers...where are they located in relation to the VIP camping area, is there enough (lines?) what are the showers like and can you easily get in? Camping at state parks, I have waited an hour to get in to shower...just need to plan accordingly.
2. What are the "regular" beer prices, and what is the "VIP Discount" on beer/food.
3. How do they enforce where VIP's can go (camping area, viewing area, etc.) Do you get a different color wristband?
4. We have some friends who may attend, but would do GA camping...could they come to our site to hang out?
5. I've read all about the entrance nightmere...so what is the benefit of the VIP entrance? Would you access it from a different road, or do you still have to approach the festival on the main roads with everyone else. We are driving from upstate NY...thinking about driving to Waynesboro Wednesday night, staying over, then only having 1 hour to drive Thursday so could get there in the morning. Will it already be a CF?
I really appreciate any feedback, and apologize in advance if I missed this info elsewhere on the forum.

This is my first Lockn but been to many Festivals and have done both VIP and non VIP. I cannot answer specifically for Lockn but I can share my experiences with other VIP festival experiences.
1. VIP has its own Bathrooms and Showers separate from GA camping. The wait should not be as long. I have never waited an hour to take a shower. I also, chose off times to shower so that I did not have to wait in lines. As for bathrooms, there should be plenty of options and I would expect wait to be minimal at best.
2. Beer pricing is a great question and I also love to know. I bring plenty of beer and try to limit how much I spend on beer from vendors and use that $$ to buy food.
3. VIP always has different color wristbands as well as laminates that you wear around your neck that you must show to enter the VIP viewing area and camping area. GA Camper trying to get into VIP is not an easy task.
4. I don't believe they will be able to come into the VIP area since they are GA camping. You would need to meet them in the stage area or go to them.
5. From what I read, VIP will have a separate entrance and the promoters are still working on times on when you can enter. I would plan on it being a CF and then when it runs smoothly you will be in much better mood when you get in.
Again, I did not attend last year's Lockn but have done VIP at many Festies in the past and all are very similar in their setup. Given the size of the festival, VIP is the way to go for me and I can't wait to experience what is arguably the best festival lineup I have ever witnessed. I hope this helps a little and take care. See you at the Lockn!

If I drank 90 beers in 4 days, I'd be dead!

When I emailed Lockn about whether I could have guests in ADA camping, they told me guests were permitted, just like in every camping area. I'm relatively certain that, as long as they're accompanied, you should be fine.
Also, have you tried emailing CID Entertainment with any of these questions? They can be reached at guestservices@cidentertainment.com.

great name
also, im guessing that just because you let friends into vip camping area, does not mean they get vip treatment. they may be able to use your rvs shower or toilet or hangout but I feel the real vip stuff is within the music grounds

That's not cool, what's to keep GA people from camping in VIP?

I asked if I could have visitors in ADA, because it kind of defeated the purpose if I had to go to them. Their reply was that visitors were welcome in ADA, and then they made a point of adding "just like every camping area."
Make of that what you will.

It was only after a few calls that someone was placed there.
That was part of the shower/bathroom issue....GA was going in a just trashing the place (mainly by overuse).
The showers and baths in the SVIP RV area(which was supposed to be SVIP camping originally too)...those were all in good shape.
I spoke to the CID manager handling the coordination with the promoters and ticketing....there is going to be a specific lane/entrance for the SVIP/VIP folks.
They are working on the 'viewing' areas / platforms....note - •No Chairs on the ADA, VIP or other Viewing Platforms
This is because of new locations (according to CID).
Back on point...I would question 'visitors' to any area if they do not have the correct wristband.
Scratch that...it's a little different - they are mainly restricting vehicles in that area:

"Hello Lori,
Thanks very much for your reply. We too are aware of the negative feedback regarding the entry logistics with last year's festival. We've been assured that the entry process this year will be completely different and will not be a repeat of the long wait times experienced by patrons last year. There is a separate VIP entrance-- though it may share some of the roads on the way into the festival grounds, it will be a speedier check-in process. With regards to the price of ice, unfortunately that's something that we're unable to confirm at this time, but please do keep us posted if we can clarify anything or assist you further in the meantime. Thanks and have a great day!
Best,
Andrew"
