As a lowly GA camper, I can't speak to whether there is supposed to be special ice pricing for the VIP folks. But I can say that the $10 bags of ice I bought last year were the really big bags. Enough to fill both of my two coolers. The kind of bag I'd pay $5 for at my local Sheetz. Given that this was at a festival and not my local Sheetz, I really didn't feel like the ice was a rip-off at all. Certainly no worse than the $8 beers.

Figures that's the one time I forget to archive an email. I shit you not, they made a point of saying "just like every camping area." Now, what they say and what they do are two different things. Maybe they were roundly criticized about their handling of that particular situation last year or something. Who knows?
But whatever, I have very little interest in getting into any other campground but my own. The important thing is I can have guests at mine.

It is my personal opinion that ALL festival goers should be required to be in GA camping at least once before being allowed to go VIP. That way when they go VIP they fully understand why they paid up.

I was never asking about discounted ice...I was just trying to find out if it was true that the ice was in fact $10, which I had read somewhere online.

The ice was indeed $10. But it was at least a ten pound bag. I was grateful I had brought along a small cooler on wheels that we emptied on the first day. That was a blessing for carrying the big bag back to camp!

The ice price is nice. It's twice the price, but also twice the ice. Seriously. If you're anything like us, you'll need that much anyway.
You're much bigger worry is whether the vendor parties too much the night before and doesn't bother to show up to sell it to you.

Find a vendor in your area and get some DRY ICE!
It will pay for itself. It my be at your local ice house...OR...at a scientific gas house (yes...they have it at those places).
Don't get the pellets...get a couple lbs of block...also put frozen water bottles in with it...and a tray with your product on top.
(the dry ice will likely be given to you wrapped in paper bag material)
Talk to the person selling it and find out how much you might need and how to use it. Do not touch it with a bare hand.
We used it last time and it worked perfect.
I even had 'frozen' Snickers on a 4 day run to Buckeye Lake ....way back when...folks didn't know how we had them Frozen on that hotazz Sunday!

I'm glad to know we might be able to let our GA proletariat friends come by our VIP Casbahs for a sip in the shade, but I understand the issue is that they can't let too many trolls in or they just want to use our fine toilets and showers.
My impression is that while generally VIP is for VIP, if you're cool about it, you can have friends over. May be a matter of who is working the gate at the time.

I can't find the appropriate thread right now, but someone on here reached out to CID about it and were told in no uncertain terms that VIP was for VIP only.
Sorry to spoil your fun. You may have noticed we're having a forum meet & greet before early triangle outside the ADA camping. Whenever they announce official stage times, I believe we're meeting an hour or so before.
