Got my RV pass today. The full hookup sites sold out quickly. I bought a primitive (field) site so that I can camp with the other heathens. Who else is in?

This is the weekend before Be Kind Festival, right? Since we'll be going down that way anyway we might as well do both and get in some hiking between the two festivals.

Yes, weekend before. I'm guessing that maybe Be Kind moved so that there was no clash with Hoopla. I hope to be there in September. I worked last year's Hoopla on a team, and if they need me again, I am there for sure. For those who have not been, it's a great location and scene, regardless of bands, but the bands will be good I'm sure. Everything is a few notches lower key and smaller; food and beer are great! Just missed a darting black bear 10 minutes away when I was driving in, if that helps describe the setting. I hear they tend to get bands just a year or two before they break much bigger.

Hoopla (Devil's Backbone and Justin B Productions) has a recent announcement that Hoopla 2020 as it is known is cancelled, with refunds for tickets and campsites made promptly. They will move the event to 2021, and will monitor opportunities for smaller live music events at DB, if possible. Sad, but understandable. Looking forward to 2021.
