Me & my guys (Scattered Smothered & Covered) actually have a date on the calendar that (fingers continued to be crossed) looks like it's still on!
Music Under the Stars is a free music series put on by the Montpelier Center for Arts & Education. My guys played here without me last summer and had a great time, and they asked us back.
So, for those around RVA, if 6 months ago I told you we were playing spread out in the middle of a big field way outside of town it might not sound very appealing - how about now??!!? Social Distancing is totally possible here, in fact we're kicking around ideas how to bring more sound equipment so folks can spread out to their heart's content and still get decent sound.
The venue continues to press forward with their June show, so barring larger trends reversing or the June show not going well, we feel pretty good about getting to play in July! (knocking on wood)
The show is Friday, July 24th starting at 7pm & here's a link to the FB event.
If I've piqued your curiosity at all, here's a taste from our set at Misty Mountain last year..
Thanks for listening!

(I'd certainly prefer that we stay outside, so here's hoping the front moves through on the quicker end of the forecast... c'mon Mother Nature, help a brother out, will ya?!!?)
One more quick run through tomorrow night, but we're sounding pretty damn solid and just ITCHING to play!

Been off the grid during family vacation last week, so just wanted to circle back to offer a glimmer of hope that we pulled this off pretty smoothly - about 200 people to my eye (though I'm a terrible judge of crowd sizes...), nicely spread out, people were good about their masks for the most part, mother nature cooperated... it was so great to be out playing, but now I'm Jonesing just to get another date on the calendar, though it looks like we'll get to play Misty Mtn next month, if only for the folks camping.
