My brother in law John studies, writes and speaks on the generational differences. He and I have talked about how the baby boomer generation is too long at 20 years and the later years don't reflect the original meaning of the term--the post war population spike from all the males returning from combat and settling down, and how a 1945 baby and a 1965 baby have nothing in common. Now we have shorter generations, some maybe too short. Perhaps we are too introspective about it all.

This makes sense to have a separate category between Boomer and X. I was born in 1972, and I am so consistently Gen X it's not even funny- the movie Reality Bites came out 3 months before I graduated from college. But I have some older cousins who would fall into the Generation Jones age range (one of them actually had the last name Jones until she got married, LOL). So we do share some things in common, but I didn't grow up in the same time frame as them. They were starting to get married and have kids while I was still in grade school. But I wouldn't call them Boomer, either- that's my parents generation.

Little known fact about me...I'm a double barrel Jones. My Mom was a Jones before she married my Dad. No they are not related. Yes they checked. So my river name and trail name is Double Barrel Jones...This makes sense to have a separate category between Boomer and X.
