Camp Site Flags - what do you use?

Thinking of flying a flag for the first time.

Do you experienced people think 15ft is high enough?

Plan on making out of pvc. Probably 1 1/2" dia. Going to try to weld up an iron pipe to the hitch mounted carrier behind my suv.

Pole would slide through the mounted pipe to the ground. Then have a set screw or through bolt to hold in place.

If this doesnt work i will use some rebar or another pipe like others have mentioned.

Oh yeah the flag says lobster and has a pic of one on it.

U-bolts for the ez up is a great idea. I need to add them to our camp list.

I have thought about buying one of those premade poles before. If my attempt this year doesnt work i may do just that.

We tried mocking something up today out of spare materials hanging around the shop. Think i have the pole figured out, just need to get the mount finalized.

Would use the ubolt idea but my shade is a slant legged screen house that is on its last leg. Good idea though!

I've been trying to figure something out to attach to our EZ Up, too. I have a green bamboo pole and an old fishing pole readily available and would prefer to use one of them vs. having to buy anything else. Has anyone ever been successful in using either, and if so, how did you secure it? We won't be flying a big or heavy flag, just a small tapestry, but the weight of the bamboo definitely concerns me, especially after reading another post about bamboo failure.

Put my flag pole together today. Look for the lobster flag flying in Car Camping, stop by for a cold one. Decided to add a light to the top of the pole too.

Hopefully I won't have any problem finding my site and can help others find theirs as well.
