32 years ago today I had the pleasure and privilege of attending the Grateful Dead NYE show ( the last of three) in Oakland, CA. Man what a trip! What a show! Check out this setlist and with Clarence Clemmons on sax and Tom Tom Club opening. Oh, and a 3 song encore!

I've told this story before but I had two friends stop by and say that they had three tickets for each show but no car. I had a car and no tickets. Vickie had just started a job and couldn't go. I just so happened to be "between jobs" and knew that this would be a once in a lifetime opportunity so I jumped on it. I still haven't entirely lived this one down but still so glad I went

I was riding shotgun, don't you remember? LOL
I flew out with a buddy from Altavista and 2 from VA Beach. We were not 25 yet so we could not rent a car so relied on the BART and cabs. We stayed in San Fran before, the day off and after on Haight street at a place called the Red Velvet Inn. Lots of great memories.
