My wife left for work (she works nights) and a woman in her thirties showed up at my door barefoot and cold. I should preface that we live on the beach. She got lost and can’t find her belongings. I invited her in to get warm and she was able to degenerate every conversation with a fever. She’s sleeping on my couch right now and I plan to feed her when she wakes up.
My compassionate side wants to help but my intellectual side says be very careful. It is 6:47 pm and she is not staying all night. I’m faced with putting her out in the cold or buying her a hotel room. I don’t want to be a dick, but right now it’s seeming like the smartest choice. What would you do?
