So not what I thought! Mean while...food at Lockn was pretty good. We had the SVIP stuff ....but that only goes so far. The shops mentioned - the ones at the end of shakedown...they were awesome. But they weren't cheap and they were full-bodied beers that didn't sit well with heat and volume drinking. But in the two VIP bars, all they had was the Sierra Nevada choices, and no discount (OK first world problems comments may commence) However, in the beer for the masses, same thing. No basic Budweiser-type beers at a reasonable (lesser) price (there's a reason they are called "popular") which most people, whether craft beer drinkers or not, want to have for day-drinking and volume drinking. Likewise, no "lite" which I won't drink, but again, that's what lots of people want. I suspect the strategy is by having expensive beer lots of people don't like, they won't sell as much, and therefore they would need fewer toilets. A quick once over of Gold Bond Cream in the old Piehole beforehand and you can eat with confidence all night long, even trouble foods like Beef Jerky can't stand up to Gold Bond

I have 2 peeves in regards to beer vendors.
1) Do not pre-pour your beer unless- and only if- your beer is in such big demand that by doing so effectively speeds up the line based on the high demand of your highly coveted beverage. If it's sitting more than 60 seconds on a hot day I don't want it. Pour me a fresh one please
2) Do not hand me my beer with dirty Lockn hands cupped over the rim of the cup. That is where my mouth goes and I have no interest in taking in the germs of hundreds of people after you handle their filthy cash and who knows what else

It took me forever, but I finally found the Mead people-that stuff is wicked good. Of course I had to fall in love with the most expensive brew on the grounds...

Delicious Dishe? I didn't make it to them unfortunately. They came to our festival, Blue Grass Valley Music Fest, in August and everything I ate was delish! They served fantastic fish tacos and the oyster po boys were huge. The oysters were perfectly cooked. I think I ate there at least 3 times.

there were a few sessions and unflavored pilsners but few and far between. But to a plain yellow beer drinker, especially a light beer drinker, even a session is heavier, and there are many sessions that are quite heavy. just looking at ways the fest could be more appealing to more people.

I suppose there is some demand for a yellow fizzy, which they have always offered for $6/pint in the past. Since I am averse to yellow fizzy I didn't even notice it was missing. Ooops.

there weren't. It was a captured market, clearly an exclusive deal cut with Sierra Nevada's owners. The ONLY non-SN choices were in the row of craft beer vendors in the back; otherwise the same SN menu on the sides, center and in both VIP bars (and no discount).
