Not sure how i felt about the Wolfpack - sounded a bit off to me but maybe that’s the mix? I also only heard the first 4 songs of set 2
Hiss Golden Messenger - 12/9
My Morning Jacket - 12/29-12/31

I haven't seen any of set 2 yet. I'll watch and report back.

I liked the story before PITB. As he started to play the first riff he said "David Crosby came up with that riff, and then left." (They were in Mickey's barn). Mickey said to Bob "you should make a song out of that". Bob said "the next day I had it." Jay Lane responded "get the fuck outta here, I've never heard you say that."
"The next song is one of your favorites, we certainly hope that it's one of ours..." - before Truckin' (which he nailed btw flubbed the lyrics again
Eyes sounds awesome, I think the Wolfpack adds a lot to that song. Anyone ever notice how Jerry always sang "wondering where the nutthatch winters" ? Bob pronounces it correctly, "wondering where the nuthatch winters". Robert Hunter used to say that it bothered him that Jerry couldn't bother to pronounce nuthatch correctly. Either that or he just didn't gaf...
I thought the Pack was a good add for the three or four songs they joined but I really dug the 5 piece. Very enjoyable show for me!

I agree with everything you said about the band. The addition of Chimenti & the pedal steel really fills out the sound & makes it have more depth. It also gives them two great musicians that can shine on any song. The pedal steel is something different than most Dead offshoots & I dig that little change. The horns & strings bring a lot to the stage. I hope they stick around, because with 10 more shows they’ll be a unit like other band’s horns. This lineup with the occasional guest star would be a good tour. Somebody like Keller, The Wood Brothers, Leftover Salmon or Billy Strings (different band in each region) opening for them & to pull from for the sit ins each night would be killer.
