Got my Moderna part 1 today and an appointment for part 2 in 4 weeks.

In rural parts of the country, particularly south, west and midwest, the "demand" for vaccinations is so low that the clinics have an excess supply. This is a problem on two levels: one, that a large part of the population isn't getting vaccinated, and two, that the over-supply with its short shelf life, will be wasted.

I used vaccinefinder.org and got an appointment the next day at a Walmart as soon as the area where I am changed guidelines to include my group.  The Walmart website said Moderna. Went I went in it was J&J.  I had a moment of "wait, after a whole year of this misery, shouldn't I do this the best possible way?"  Message with my doc fully convinced me to grab the J&J. Later reading about it only solidified that. Very happy to be one and done (for now anyway). Shots in arms is what it is all about for our country and having normal lives right now, I am convinced of that--the masking and isolation stuff isn't going to do much for us anymore, people have had it with this life, and we are very fortunate that we may be able to put it behind us soon even if we are among those willing to keep doing it. Hope they will eventually drive people crazy with vaccine availability reminders, then give out the Nobel Prizes. "Vaccine, vaccine," as Dolly sang.

Just got my first moderna shot. Next one is scheduled for guess when? 4/20 lol
