These inflatable solar powered lights cannot be beat. As initially designed they have provided cheap effective light to the third world. They last all night and have three levels, and a flash. I used to giggle at people that would bring showers to festivals when i was younger- until i got one- and i cannot stress how absolutely life changing they are. Yeah, you don't stay clean for long- but nothing makes you feel more like an earthling than a strong cup of coffee and a nice shower each morning. Please use biodegradable soap friends! It does make your hair super dry- i recommend a leave in conditioner that you do not have to rinse out. great for cleaning dishes as well!time to bump this most valuable of all threads! I bought at "solar" bag camping shower at a yard sale* yesterday. The tube had kinks and once kinky won't go straight again. Some people are like that. So virtually no flow at all and shut-downs when moving it.
Solution: replace hose with braided high pressure hose from any hardware store about $1.00/ft. Can't kink. Some people are like that.

Well mine aren't solar showers; they are solar rinsers for the dishes and whatever other dirty parts need attention....
All the rules are about moderation; as long as your washing water soaks in and doesn't sheet drain off your pad, it doesn't matter. It's the old "if everyone did it..." thing.
Health-wise, I can't abide the tent toilets and the disposition of the contents into ordinary trash cans, but that has been debated already.

Floyd Fest had this event on the show field -the Dr Bronner's Magic Foam experience. Imaging a truck trailer with all glass sides. A bunch of people would get in there at once, and get sprayed by Dr Bronner's soap foam out of a fire hose while dancing to disco music. It was a lot of fun and you got a free shower out of it. But slypknot is correct--it turns you hair into brittle straw by sucking all the natural oils out if it!

Apologies if this suggestion is already in the earlier 23 pages of this thread, but in addition to the Luci solar lights someone mentioned above (which are awesome), another great have for tent camping is a cheap pack of solar walkway lights. Harbor Freight has like 10 for about $22 (less if you have a coupon). Last year I put a couple around as you would expect them to be used. The rest I let charge during the day and then pulled to the tops off to move the light part around where needed at night. The tops are great for lighting up tables and other stuff under the pop up. In the morning I would put them back on the stakes to charge my little solar farm. It was a good addition to my flashlights and solar lanterns last year.

Those lights are pretty convenient. Used to have quite a few but I lose one or two every year (and there are the ones I break trying to modify them for flag pole toppers).
Haven't looked this year but you can often find them on clearance sales this time of year (end of summer) at the target/kroger/lowes/ etc. where they only sell them seasonally.
