Does anyone know where the bike trails are located at Oak Ridge? It says they are going to have 30 miles of trails to ride on this year so I definitely want to bring my bicycle. Also, does anyone know if they have bike racks outside of the entrance gates? I went last year but I can't remember.

They had what the called bike racks at the entrance to the venue. It was really portable fencing and the front wheel of a bike didn't actually fit through, so you had to heave your front wheel over the top of the fence piece to lock it up. It wasn't ideal. But it was WAY better than walking from car camping 2!

Exit parking area on Route 650 (sharp curve). Turn left
1.5 – R Route 56 The Corner Market, watch traffic!
2.2 – L Route 639
9.5 – L Route 617
19.0 – L Route 623
19.5 – L Route 766 – becomes Route 624
19.6 – L Route 29 Watch traffic, ride single file21.5 – R Route 718
23.0 – Bear L on Route 651
24.7 – R Route 29 / Route 56 combined. Watch traffic, ride single file

We didn't explore any trails last year. We were pretty much consumed by just getting back and forth to the stage and our camp.Thank you suebhunny. Did you see any bike trails last year?

I don't plan to do 30 in one day, but maybe 10-15 each day.

That is a loop trail. And it takes you out on 29/56. If I wanted to ride some back-roads I would follow the first part of that and then turn around and come back.

I went preferred tent camping because I didn't want to mess with bikes going back and forth from camp to venue. With the lineup they are putting on at the Triangle late night, though, I am wondering if it is worth it to me to bring my bike just for that. I really prefer that lineup to the Shakedown stage. Riding bikes late at night w/ lots of festival goers might not be the safest option, though.

It could take only a minute or two from the front edge of Preferred to 5 min or so from the back edge to the line forming at the gate. Now if you have a real good buzz on or you are really social it could take hours.

It was fun, lemme tell you. Probably a good idea to have a horn or a whistle.Riding bikes late at night w/ lots of festival goers might not be the safest option, though.

I was off to the left of the stage last year in the VIP camping area, and I would not say I was able to hear the music while at camp. I was at camp during Grace Potter's set with Mule, and I could tell when she would wail a bit, but I couldn't really make out any songs or hear anything worth paying attention to. I imagine it would be a lot worse from the back side.
