There are several roads around the entire venue.....the public road actually bi sects the property up on the Hill before you get out to Car Camping. There is a road DOWN the hill as you enter the venue into tent camping (with cars parked on the hillside)...this road goes downhill and snakes around over to shakedown street.....there is a big hill you can bike up to get to the "cross roads" up top that I mentioned earlier......this road up is a dirt road.....if you bike out to car camping...there are endless lanes between all the parked vehicles and tents....it is field riding so mountain bikes best to prevent flats....due to sharp stubble sticking up....would HIGHLY recommend a bike..this venue is HUGE....the walk from car camping to the stage area is a LONG WAY...from lot number two if must be over a mile......take the morning ride...meet the neighbors...get a coffee~!

My wife bought us 2 tickets and car camping for my 40th birthday and we are coming on Friday for the remainder of the weekend and I am guessing we will be parked in Car Camping 2. Any guesses on how far away we will be from the stage? How hilly is it? I was parked way out at an All Good at Marvin's and those hills were steep as hell and a very tough climb. I am just wondering if the hills at Lockn are similar.

I would say that Oak Ridge is not quite as hilly as Marvin's Mountaintop. While there are definitely elevation changes, I feel like they are a lot more gradual than some of the hills at All Good. The trails are also a lot better; more dirt/gravel roads at Lockn than the trails at All Good. I was in the back of Car Camping 2 last year (now CC 1) and I would say the average stroll to the venue was about 20-25 minutes or about 2-3 beers. The worst part was the "shortcut" gravel/dirt road towards the triangle stage that had a hill down and then back up so no matter which way your were going, you were screwed. Thank you for you input! It sorta looks like CC2 is a little closer than CC1 but either way 20-25 minutes isn't too bad, though guess we'll have to hustle to head out to eat and not miss too much music.
