I am 3 festivals and 3 shows into my post COVID run and getting a little road weary. Things slow down the rest of the year, but I have 3 more confirmed and 4 more potential to go.

Margo Price - always a good set. The crowd was really sparse as due to 5 acts they started at 4pm. We got there just in time to see her complete set. (I can’t currently locate a set list). Ms Margo Price did cover Leslie Gore’s You Don’t Own Me (excellent version). Niece’s 2nd favorite act of the night
Govt Mule:
Million Miles From Yesterday, Patchwork Quilt,Pressure Under Fire, Banks of the Deep End, She Said She Said, Beautifully Broken, Come and Go Blues, Time to Confess, Soulshine
Always great to get a Patchwork Quilt. She Said, She Said was a smoker! Soulshine, Warren get to talking about BB King and then did the chorus in BB style.
Tyler Childers:
Her and the Banks, Country Squire, Bus Route, Creeker, Born Again, Tulsa Turnaround, House Fire, Universal Sound, Help Me Make It Through the Night, The Old Country Church, Take My Hounds to Heaven, Trudy ...
Tyler ripped the roof over this place. I understand that some people don’t get/understand his pissed at the world preforming live style but I do and it’s amazing. All the songs were great but his cover of Charlie Daniels Trudy had me whooping and hollering. Niece’s favorite act of the night.
Sturgill Simpson:
Brace for Impact (Live a Little), Long White Line, All the Pretty Colors, All Around You, Shamrock, Life of Sin, Juanita, Living the Dream, Breakers Roar, I Don't Mind, Welcome to Earth (Pollywog), Sometimes Wine
I really enjoyed the set (Niece didn’t), but to go from a barn burner Childers to acoustic Sturgill can take the wind out of your sails a bit. Set list doesn’t include I’d Have To Be Crazy, but Sturgill did perform it as well in VA Beach
Willie Nelson and Family:
Whiskey River / Still Is Still Moving to Me, If I Die When I'm High I'll Be Halfway to Heaven (Micah Nelson), Mammas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up to Be Cowboys, Crazy/Night Life, Everything Is Bullshit (Micah Nelson), On the Road Again, Always On My Mind, Just Breathe (I don’t remember him doing this), Will the Circle be Broken/Amazing Grace, Lord it’s Hard to be Humble (Circle through Humble had Margo, Childers, and Sturgill singling backup). Also two Bobbie Nelson piano tunes were mixed in there somewhere.
For the record (& I think most of you know this) I am a huge Willie Nelson fan… Willie looked every day of his 88 years that night, I was prepared for a short set, but not emotionally prepared for the sitting down the entire set, the heavy sweat coming off Willie (heat wasn’t an issue that evening…maybe because he was sitting the lighting was hitting different then other acts) or having Micah handle some of the singing. As I watched Willie walk off the stage by himself as the band played I realized this will most likely be my last Willie show and well damn it I’m not ready for that.
