Living in Nashville, I the days of yore I was at the Ryman for something at least a couple of time a month. I was never a Little Feat fan but, being in college from 79 to 83, I certainly enjoyed lots of LF tunes. They will do two nights at the Ryman. Should I go? Aside from Brother Lowell, is it essentially the same band or something different now? If different, in an interesting way or in a tried-but-couldn’t way?

According to Wikipedia, the current roster is below. Three originals and Tackett is a long-timer. Shaun Murphy was a female front vocalist that was a bit controversial because the "original" band was all male; I happened to like her sound, especially on the "new band" songs.
I saw them when they regrouped shortly after Lowell died and they were trying to extend his sound; it fell a little flat. Then they got their own groove on with new songs that connected with the old ones, as well as "covering" the old ones, and they were great to see. Very fine musicians. Among the great "new band" tunes is "Let it Roll" especially the live version. Find it on this great live album: Highwire Act Live in St. Louis 2003 (2004)
"Join the Band" is a great collection of collaborations with other artists doing their songs, such as Buffet doing Time Loves a Hero with the band.
I think the best "old band" studio album is The Last Record Album
