ticket fee gouging

Nothing is going to change if people keep paying that. As long as AXS gets its money why would they change it.

I don’t do AXS, and unfortunately for me they are the vendors for the National in RIC.

They got us by the balls.

The reason they have you by the balls is because you have placed them right in their hand and told them "Squeeze away!"

Just don't go. It's easier than you think, and honestly quite comforting to know you have the power over them.

And I don't say this lightly. For decades live music was my very reason for being on this planet. But recently I took my life, my money, and my balls back. Zero regrets.

But that's just me. Thank the good Lord I have enough happy concert memories to last me between now and my last breath. If you still need to collect some more, no judgment here. Just know that when you've had enough you can leave at any time. If I can do it, anybody can.

And you won't believe how good it feels to not have Ticketmaster and AXS be a part of your life.

I understand the marketing ploy of a posted price plus add-ons but when they get this big for nothing, the better marketing IMO is flat amount out the door.

The website says this; but the vaguery is in the word "clients":

When you buy tickets through AXS, we want you to understand the fees you’ll pay, who sets them, and what they cover. As fans ourselves, being transparent about fees is important to us.

The first thing to understand is that fees vary by venue and event. That’s because the ticket price – including the face value and the fees – is set by our clients (venues, promoters, event organizers, etc.). A portion of the fees collected goes to AXS, and the rest, including the entirety of the face value, goes to our clients.

Here’s a breakdown of the fees you might see and what they are:

Service Fee

This is a per-ticket fee (sometimes called a convenience fee/web charge) that is shared between us and our clients. The portion we keep helps us cover the costs involved in running our business and offering you the ability to purchase tickets online, or through our app or phone service.
Order Processing Fee

This is a per-order fee, and our portion helps cover costs associated with receiving and confirming ticket orders.
Delivery Fee

This is a per-order fee that’s based on the selected delivery method (USPS, Will Call, e-ticket, etc.) . Not all delivery methods are available for each event, and there’s no delivery fee for AXS Mobile ID.
Facility Fee

Each client will determine if a facility fee is required. When one is, we collect and submit that fee to them.
Resale Fee

This is a per-ticket fee (sometimes called a buyer connection or buyer fee) for resale tickets only. This fee is shared between us and each client and the portion we keep helps us cover the costs involved in running our business and offering you the ability to purchase tickets online, including through AXS Official Resale.

The Norva--subject of the original post with the 50% fees--sells at the box office for a $3 fee, either night of the show or any Friday. All open seating (well, standing), seldom sells out, and the box office is a couple blocks from my office. So I can get around it, and will buy tickets for you all!
