I was a little shocked The Avett’s, John Mayer, DMB, Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, Jack White, Eminem, Arctic Monkeys, RCHP, Metallica or Phish couldn’t crack the top 40. I was glad Zac Brown was on there repping hard for Lockn 2013.

I am pleased to be out of the mainstream and not know most of those bands. Clearly I’m way out of the mainstream because I only knew of about 5 or 6 of those bandsperhaps this should go here:

Truthfully, most of the names rang a bell just from publicity, sneers from music sites like this, etc. For instance "Florida Georgia Line" is simply a punch line for bad recycled bro country. Also the Blink band was, I think, one that my children may have known until they matured into better music.
But I am also surprised that a band like Phish didn't get enough hits on the analog to get in.
Proves the old saying that no one ever went broke underestimating the taste of the American public.
